Abdullah Al Haddad

A word from Abdullah:

My name is Abdullah and I am a Registered Social Worker as well as an immigrant to Canada from a Syrian-Arab background. I have lived experience as a person with a disability as I am visually impaired. I am passionate about working with clients who also have a disability, newcomers to Canada, as well as those who have had cancer touch their lives.

Abdullah's Story

My professional journey has been marked by a profound commitment to three distinct client groups. Firstly, my dedication to newcomers to Canada stems from a desire to ease their transition and offer a supportive space for them to navigate the complexities of settling into a new country. Secondly, I am driven by a deep empathy for individuals who have encountered the impact of cancer in their lives. Lastly, my expertise extends to clients with disabilities, a realm where my personal journey harmonizes with my professional role. I believe in tailoring my approach to suit the unique needs of each individual, seamlessly integrating evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Narrative Therapy. Through this integrative approach, I collaborate with my clients to navigate challenges, harness strengths, and rewrite narratives, ultimately leading to improved mental well-being and a renewed sense of purpose.

Some of my personal interests include trying new foods, exploring new places, learning about different cultures, listening to podcasts, and enjoying the occasional video-game.

I am available virtually only, from 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Saturday, Sunday, Monday, and Thursdays. I look forward to seeing you in session!

I'm always looking for new and exciting opportunities. Let's connect.
